Melody Lake is a license massage therapist with training in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy and Thai Massage.  Her primary interest is in helping her clients achieve wellness in body and mind through relaxation so they can enjoy rich, active, pain free lives.  She is a graduate of Birmingham School of Massage and the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling.  She retired from UAB after 25 years as a program manager and advisor.  Massage therapy is her second, and favorite career so far!

Her approach to massage is soothing and sensory.  She uses essential oils and warm foot wraps to invite her clients to relax into the healing benefits of massage.  She gets to know her clients to assess the stress, lifestyle, and repetitive motion which might be impacting their muscular health.  Her focus with each client is to provide relief from acute pain, and to develop a plan for long term wellness.

In her life outside of massage, she enjoys photography, cooking, and supporting local music.  She has a grown son who lives in Nashville, and three cats who share her home.
